What would it take to maintain your current income in retirement? Compare your target with estimated income and existing assets, then explore the remaining gap.
The income gap is before withdrawals from the savings entered above. Projected existing assets reduce the additional capital you need to build. Future amounts are expressed in retirement-year euros.

The income target is 100% of your current annual income, increased by assumed inflation to preserve equivalent purchasing power. Use a consistent gross or net basis; taxation is not modelled.
The calculation assumes 2% annual inflation, 5% annual growth on investments and new savings before retirement, 0% growth on current cash and bank deposits, and a 4% planning drawdown assumption in retirement. Returns are illustrative, not guaranteed, and do not deduct charges or tax. A 4% drawdown does not guarantee sustainable income.
The Malta State pension figure is an indicative planning estimate only. It uses two-thirds of current income capped at a 2026 Maximum Pensionable Income assumption of €29,083.36 and assumes a full contribution history. This simplified assumption has been retained from the original calculator for this review; it does not assess your actual entitlement or pension commencement age. If you retire before State pension starts, the intervening income gap is not modelled.
Rental income, separate investment income, private pensions and other continuing income reduce the income gap. These income streams are assumed to rise with inflation; actual payments may not. Existing cash and the projected value of retirement investments reduce the additional capital target. Legacy is added separately in inflation-adjusted terms.
